The Risen Christ | Pastor Paul Kiilu | March 31 20133. April, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsPodcast: Play in new window | Download The Risen Christ — His Peace, Power, and Purpose Three Facts and How Jesus Deals With Us. 1. The doors were locked. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have” (Luke 24:39). 2. They were afraid. Verse 19: “The doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews . . .” Their leader had just been crucified as threat to Caesar. Their fear is totally understandable. And into that fear Jesus comes. 3. Jesus comes to them and stands in their midst. Verse 19: “. . . the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them.” Three Gifts in What Jesus Says the gift of peace, the gift of power, and the gift of purpose. 1). “Peace Be With You Five relationships where the crucified and risen Christ brings peace into your life: 1) Peace between us and him. He is standing there among them offering them himself as a friend and helper, not a judge. 2) Peace between us and God. God makes peace with us by substituting his Son’s suffering for our penalty. Now he comes to us as a loving Father. 3) Peace between us and others who are in Christ. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28) 4)Peace between us and our own souls. The New Testament letter to the Hebrews says, “The blood of Christ . . . will purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God” (Hebrews 9:14). 5). Peace with the world. Colossians 1:19–20 so that someday, in God’s time, all evil will be cast into outer darkness and the entire new creation will be full of peace and righteousness. Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end . . . with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore” How Do You Receive This Peace? John 1:12 “To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” 2). Power by the Spirit Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” The work of the Holy Spirit that Jesus gives is that he makes us able to do what we are simply not able to do on our own. He gives us power. John 20: 22 Jesus performs a kind of acted out parable. “He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” 3. Our Central Purpose for Existence John 20:22, 23 NKJV And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” |

The Ultimate Rest | Erastus Njenga | March 10 201310. March, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsPodcast: Play in new window | Download THE ULTIMATE RESTRest means i – Inactivity after work or exertion Salvation is rest = also knowing that you are saved it gives you rest, mentally and emotionally Sabbath rest = Exodus 20:9-10 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. Exodus 20:11 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Romans 8:28 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose. Exodus 31:1717 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’” (sabbath is for israel alone – A covenant for my children israel 2 God) 2 Peter 1:20 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. Hebrew 4:1-8 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a] 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, Hebrews 4:99 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e] just as God did from his. _ There is a rest for the people of God _In Genesis God created and finished everything in six days , he rested the 7th day. _These were 24 littral days of 24 hour clock _This is also prophetic day _Why do i say these _I want you to listen to me very carefully. Please don’t loose me here. 2 Peter 3:88 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. -One thousand years is as one day to our lord -ISRAEL calendar starts from 0 to today . Their calender is approaching 6000 years since the time man was created. -This is just 6 days as to the Lord -The seventh day the whole of the earth will enter into rest. THE WHOLE CREATION GROANS Romans 8:22-25 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: THERE IS A DAY WHICH IS COMING-The rest one thousand years = 1 day to our Lord -We are approaching 6000 years = 6 day to our Lord -The seventh day or the 7000 year is the rest for all creation Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ***Satan will be bound in a bottomless pit before whole earth rests.*** IT IS ONLY 2 DAYS SINCE JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD Hosea 6:1-2 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. TIE IT UP 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. BENEDICTIONS -Are you ready for this big day that is coming |

Active Faith, Growing Our Faith By Giving it Away | Pastor Paul Kiilu | February 17 201317. February, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsPodcast: Play in new window | Download Active Faith—Growing Our Faith By Giving it Away:Matthew 9:29, Jesus said this, “According to your faith will it be done to you.” What is Jesus saying? He’s saying, your faith matters. James 2:14-17, 4 what is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day,16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). How do I activate my faith?1. Ask God to use me. II Chronicles 16:9, For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him. You have done foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you shall have wars.-And God is not looking for the extraordinary. God is looking for the ordinary people just like me and just like you and with ordinary people, Isaiah 6:7-9and with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. 2. Cultivate divine opportunities. Colossians 4:5. “Live wisely among those who are not Christians and make the most of every opportunityOther times they can be planned opportunities. -The issue is not, whether you will have the opportunity. The issue is will you make the most of those? -Daily opportunities that God gives you to make a difference. They are everywhere, but so many times, we say—goodbye, God bless you, and the need is so clear it is the size Mountain. Moreover, our faith remains dormant. Three types of divine opportunities you get every day.
-sometimes we are looking for these big things, but these daily opportunities are there. What could you do starting today to serve someone? You know the second greatest commandment, Jesus said, is to love your neighbor as yourself.
-Be a visual expression of God’s love in action. And really, God’s love it’s as much as what we do in here, it’s really about what we do out there.
-Every day you have an opportunity to share God’s plan - People say—well, my life is worthless. You get to step up and say—no, God has a purpose for your life. Your life is not an accident. -People say—well, I feel empty inside. You get to speak up and say—that’s not God’s best for you. - Other people don’t know what’s going on, but you get a chance to share with them God’s plan. 3.Take action every day. 1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity)-Don’t let a day go by without action.-And you will want to do that everyday. an apple a day. . .keeps the doctor away. -an apple a day is good for your physical health, an action a day is good for your spiritual health. -And if you take care of your health, why not take care of your spirit and every day put it into action. Active faith calendar. Monday, we could take this action—we could pray for our boss and our co-workers. Tuesday, help at least one person today. Tuesday would be like helpful Tuesday. There would be so many people being helped that day. Wednesday, encourage someone in your group. Just remembering them. Praying for them. Helping meet some kind of need they have. -Thursday, making the city or neighborhood a better place. Stoping down to pick up a piece of trash. -Friday, invite a friend to church. Just get a little deeper into some of those deeper needs that people have where they need to hear about how God loves them and has a plan for their life. -Saturday, connecting with your family. Most of you are not from here and it would be easy to get out of touch. Family, we could encourage them, and they could encourage us in our faith.- -Sunday, praying for our church. I know many of you do this. Praying for the pastor, praise team, Sunday schoolteachers… |
