Occupying our divine placement.

Play

Introduction.

  • Placement means specific assignment with a purpose.
  • It means being given a gift and a task, and sent to a place.
  • Many believers suffer for their ignorance of these things.

Our Divine Placement Is Specific
Romans 12: 3-8

  • We each have a gift, task, place, and time for God’s service; it must be taken.
  • We cannot occupy any one else’s or each other’s places; each one of us is unique and named.
  • We do not need to compete with each other; there is no shortage or comparison.

Romans 12:1-8

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Our Divine Placement Is Mandatory
Ephesians 2:8-10

  • We are here for this very purpose; without this we become irrelevant.
  • We are God’s workmanship; the Everlasting God is our Master.
  • We are commanded to do it; we do not have options or alternatives.

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Our Divine Placement Is Essential
John 15:1-8

  • We can do nothing without Him; misplacement is powerlessness.
  • We are cast out for not abiding in Him; misplacement is disobedience.
  • We have answered prayers while abiding; misplacement is disconnection.

John 15:1-8

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;[a] and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Conclusion.

  • Knowing your gift, task, place, and time is the secret of success in the spiritual life and ministry.
  • Success is not in numbers, duration, fame, popularity, income, praise, etc.
  • God’s approval, not men’s or our own ideas and goals, should be our pursuit.

THE ENEMIES OF REVIVAL

Play

2 Chronicles 7:14.  if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I.      PRIDE IS THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL

A.  “Will humble themselves” – This phrase deals with the area of our pride.  The word      translated “pride” in the Old Testament means “to rise or to swell up.

It speaks of men thinking more of themselves and their abilities than they do of God.

Pride says, “I do not need God, I can make my own way.  I know best.  I call the shots in my life.”

Rev. 3:17a.  Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.

Pro. 6:16-19. These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

Pro. 8:13; The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

Pro.11:2; When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.

Pro.16:5; Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.

Pro. 6:18-19.Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.

B.  God has a better plan!  He calls on His people to “humble themselves”.

The word “humble” means “to bend the knee; to bring down; to place self under another.”

Pride will not allow the prideful person to bow their knee to the Lord!

Rev. 3:17b-18.  I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Jonah 3:5-10 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

John 15:5.-6“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
II.  PRAYERLESSNESS IS THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL

A.  The people of God are challenged to “pray”.

Prayerlessness is the first cousin to pride.

Prayerlessness says, “I do not need to call on the Lord, I can make it just fine without His aid.”

Prayerlessness does not say, “He is all I need”; but “I am all I need.”

B.  It is a fact that we can pray and not have revival; but we will never have a revival apart from prayer!

Prayer is the ultimate statement of inability.

Prayer looks to God and says, “I can’t, but you can!”

Prayer acknowledges personal, profound dependence upon the Lord.

James 4:2-3!   You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Charles Finney said, “Prayer is the essential link in the chain of events that leads to revival!”

III. PRIORITIES ARE THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL

A.  God’s people are told to “seek His face”.  The word “seek” means “to search out by any method; especially by worship and prayer.”

The word “face” refers to “the countenance; to turn toward His direction.”  This little phrase is a call for God’s people to stop looking for help and purpose in every other thing in life.  They are called upon to make God their primary focus and their first priority.,
James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Isa. 55:6. Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near

IV. PRESUMPTION IS THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL

A.  Finally, God’s people are told to “turn from their wicked ways.”

Sin keeps us out of the presence of the Lord,

Isa. 59:2. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

Sin closes the Lord’s ears to our prayers

Psalm. 66:18; If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.

Pro. 15:8,29 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.

Pro. 28:9.One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.

B. What we need is a season of repentance.

Pro. 28:13; He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

1 John 1:9.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

C.  James 5:16b says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

The key word in that verse is “righteous”.  The word refers to a person who is “holy, upright and keeps the commandments of the Lord.”  Does that describe you?  Are you a righteous man or woman?  Can God hear your prayers, and could you be an instrument of revival in His hands?
D. Revival will only come to those who get honest about their sin; who confess them; forsake them and turn to God with all their hearts, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart,”

Jer. 29:13. My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, And like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of the Lord, And because of His holy words.

Revival will come when God’s people adopt the attitude that gripped the hearts of the people of Nineveh.  They dealt with their sin problem and God moved in a great revival,

Jonah 3:8-10.But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

Acts 4:31-35

I. THE ESSENTIALS OF REVIVAL.
A. This revival was preceded by the prayers of people.
V-31 “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken…….;”
When we neglect prayer, we neglect preparation for revival.
B. Preceded by the praise of the people
V-24 “And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:”
C. Preceded by the presence of the people
V-3 1 “……where they were assembled together…”
A child of God should not have to be begged to come.

II. THE EXPECTATIONS OF REVIVAL.

A. They experienced the fullness of the Spirit
V-31  ”And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were
assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,………”
You can’t have revival without surrender and total surrender brings fullness.
B. They experienced the freedom of speech.
V-31 “and they spake the word of God with boldness…”
C. They experienced fellowship of the saints.
V-32  ”And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he.
Churches split over the silliest things.

III. THE EXTENT OF REVIVAL,

A. It will result in greater witness
V-31 They witnessed
B. It will result in greater works. V-34
You can usually judge a person’s spiritual temperature by their giving.

GO HOME GET SOME WHERE IN THE CLOSET AND PRAY!

Salvation is of The Lord it is the most highly paid gift to mankind.

Salvation
Means rescue from sin and death
This was the first thing that God promised after Adam and eve sinned.
Genesis 3:15 the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent.
The seed of the serpent shall bruise the heel of the seed of the woman.
This was before any child was born = therefore what Adam and Eve did affected all human race. This brought sin and separation from God. Enmity between man and the serpent started here
No one can be able to earn salvation
Salvation is given by GRACE alone through FAITH in the atoning work of Jesus Christ Ephesian 2 – 8 :9 .

AT CONVERSION
Immediately a sinner becomes a saint, not free from sin in this life but free from the death , penalty brought on  by sin.Amen…

SANTIFICATION.
Once born again – you are just like a newly born child – the growth process is through out the Christian life sprung to become Christ likeness. This happens through feeding of the word of God – This process of GOD setting us apart  is called sanctification.

IT’S A COMPLETE GIFT FOR NONE  IS RIGHTEOUS
Isaiah 64-6

But we are all as an unclean thing and all our Righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
ARE BETTER THAN THE JEWS.
No in no wise; for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they ALL UNDER SIN. ROMANS 3:9
verse 10 As it is written , there is none righteous , no not one.
Psalm 14: 3- they are all gone aside they are altogether become filthy or corrupt. There is none that doeth good NO not ONE.
WE are living with a generation which is saying today that it is good. The bible declares that no generation is good no individual either.

Rom 3-12 All Gone out way

ALL are gone astray ALL are lost.
All gone out of the way.

All Unprofitable
Rom 3 – 12   they are all together become unprofitable. There is none that profiteth.
None is Doing good
Rom 3-12  There is none that doeth good no not one.

        All Like Open Graves
Have you smelled a dead Cat or Dog?
Have you smelt a dead mans body.
The bible declares that all are like open sepulcher (Grave).
Speaking that comes out of their throat is full of dead smell.
You and I know it because– maybe you work or go to school with some of them- but yours is only good because you are saved.
In their tongues they have used deceit the poison of asps is under their lips.
My daughter wairimu read me a sad story of two boys as young as young as 10 years old conspiring to kill. They told the judge 0penly that they if let out they will kill. This happened on Feb. 7, 2013 and now they are saying they will kill whoever told the story to the  police .What are we going to do ?
Rom 3-14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness
vs. 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways .
THE WAY OF PEACE.
V17 and the way of peace have they not known, and there is no fear of God in them.
Law Does Not Help
V19 We know that what things so ever the law saith , it saith to them who are under the law. that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
V20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.
Law is knowledge of sin. The law doesn’t make you good either.

***
No one understands No one Seeks after GOD.
Rom 3:11 There is none that understands , there is none that seeks after God.
If then all is lost and none understand and none seeks God how can one get saved?
Good question.

**    BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD **
.You must hear the word of God .
The word of God must be preached to you.
You have to make a decision (choice)

Act upon the word of God
IT’S Two ways decision;
1. In obedience  - brings saving faith
2. In disobedience – brings condemnation
He that does not believe the wrath of God abides with him or in him, very, very serious matter.
Salvation is 100% entirely the gift of God .
Without God opening your inner hearing you will not hear neither will you understands what you are hearing
God gives you faith
No one can come to GOD by himself
The more I study the word of God the more I have come to know that salvation entirely is a gift of God.
You cannot SEE nor ENTER (John 3 – verse 3 and verse 5 Jesus declares)
He makes your eyes see and He (Jesus) lights your path, that you may  SEE and ENTER in THE IN THIS BEAUTIFULL SALVATION OF OUR LORD,AMEN.
Understanding the gospel is a gift of God.   THE HOLY SPIRIT gives you understanding By Faith
Jesus is the Author and the finisher of our faith
.HEBREWS 12:2
Righteousness
No one is righteous no not one
Righteousness is IMPUITED- That is it is put in or INJECTED IN YOU.
Jesus told his disciples many a times that he is going to be killed and then resurrect at the third day. That is destroy this temple and I will raise it in 3 days
They could not understand this at all.
When Jesus was hanged on the cross, the disciples went and locked themselves in – and went into hiding.
Jesus come looking for them
Adam and Eve went hiding after sin they did not go looking for God – God Went to get them where they were hiding. No one understands, no one seeks after God.
The word of God is like a hammer , according  Jeremiah 23:29(is not my word like as a FIRE? Says the LORD and like a hammer that breaks the ROCK in pieces?
The word of God is like a sword dividing asunder . Heb . 4-12(for the word of GOD is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow,

Religion
Adam– religion was the fig tree leaves
Today is all decollated than ever before
The Natural man
The natural man understands not the thing of God.
1 cor. 2-17 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Jesus gives us understanding
1 John 5- 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know HIM that is true, and we are in HIM that is true, even in HIS Son Jesus Christ. This is the true GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE.
The word of God is the scalpel or operation knife
Col 2:12(buried with him in baptism wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of GOD who hath raised him from the dead.)
Col 2-2(hearts might be comforted)
Col 3-3(for ye dead and your life is hid with Christ in GOD).
God help us to understand
God help our poor understand
God help us to grow there in
.ITS BROTHER NJENGA saying GOD bless you SHAlOM,

The Risen Christ — His Peace, Power, and Purpose
John 20:19-23,

Three Facts and How Jesus Deals With Us.

1. The doors were locked.
Jesus did not have to knock. He did not even have to open the door. He simply was there. And he wasn’t a ghost. Look at verse 20: “He showed them his hands and his side.” In another place he said, “Touch me, and see.

For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have” (Luke 24:39).

2. They were afraid.

Verse 19: “The doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews . . .” Their leader had just been crucified as threat to Caesar. Their fear is totally understandable. And into that fear Jesus comes.

3. Jesus comes to them and stands in their midst.

Verse 19: “. . . the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them.”

Three Gifts in What Jesus Says

the gift of peace, the gift of power, and the gift of purpose.

1). “Peace Be With You
Verse 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.”

Five relationships where the crucified and risen Christ brings peace into your life:

1) Peace between us and him. He is standing there among them offering them himself as a friend and helper, not a judge.

2) Peace between us and God. God makes peace with us by substituting his Son’s suffering for our penalty. Now he comes to us as a loving Father.

3) Peace between us and others who are in Christ. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28)

4)Peace between us and our own souls. The New Testament letter to the Hebrews says, “The blood of Christ . . . will purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God” (Hebrews 9:14).

5). Peace with the world. Colossians 1:19–20 so that someday, in God’s time, all evil will be cast into outer darkness and the entire new creation will be full of peace and righteousness.

Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end . . . with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore”

How Do You Receive This Peace?

John 1:12 “To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
Romans 5:1.“Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”

2). Power by the Spirit

Acts 1:8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you”

The work of the Holy Spirit that Jesus gives is that he makes us able to do what we are simply not able to do on our own. He gives us power.

John 20: 22 Jesus performs a kind of acted out parable. “He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”

John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”

3. Our Central Purpose for Existence

John 20:22, 23 NKJV And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

THE ULTIMATE REST

Rest means         i – Inactivity after work or exertion
ii – Relief from anything distressing , annoying , tiring etc
iii – peace of mind , emotional and mental calm. Tranquility.
iv – A period or occasion of inactivity
v – The repose of death or absence of motion or immobility

Salvation is rest = also knowing that you are saved it gives you rest, mentally and emotionally

Sabbath rest = Exodus 20:9-10 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

Exodus 20:11 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Romans 8:28 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose.

Exodus 31:1717 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”

(sabbath is for israel alone – A covenant for my children israel 2 God)

2 Peter 1:20 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Hebrew 4:1-8 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a] 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
“So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’”[b]
And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. 4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.”[c] 5 And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”
6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”[d]
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:99 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e] just as God did from his.

_ There is a rest for the people of God

_In Genesis God created and finished everything in six days , he rested the         7th day.

_These were 24 littral days of 24 hour clock

_This is also prophetic day

_Why do i say these

_I want you to listen to me very carefully. Please don’t loose me here.

2 Peter 3:88  But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up

Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

-One thousand years is as one day to our lord

-ISRAEL calendar starts from 0 to today . Their calender is approaching 6000 years since the time man was created.

-This is just 6 days as to the Lord

-The seventh day the whole of the earth will enter into rest.

THE WHOLE CREATION GROANS

Romans 8:22-25 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

THERE IS A DAY WHICH IS COMING

-The rest one thousand years = 1 day to our Lord

-We are approaching 6000 years = 6 day to our Lord

-The seventh day or the 7000 year is the rest for all creation

Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

***Satan will be bound in a bottomless pit before whole earth rests.***

IT IS ONLY 2 DAYS SINCE JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD

Hosea 6:1-2 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

1 Thessalonians 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
