The Enemies of Revival | Pastor Paul Kiilu | April 21 201323. April, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsTHE ENEMIES OF REVIVALPodcast: Play in new window | Download 2 Chronicles 7:14. if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. I. PRIDE IS THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL A. “Will humble themselves” – This phrase deals with the area of our pride. The word translated “pride” in the Old Testament means “to rise or to swell up. It speaks of men thinking more of themselves and their abilities than they do of God. Pride says, “I do not need God, I can make my own way. I know best. I call the shots in my life.” Rev. 3:17a. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. Pro. 6:16-19. These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. Pro. 8:13; The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. Pro.11:2; When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. Pro.16:5; Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Pro. 6:18-19.Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. B. God has a better plan! He calls on His people to “humble themselves”. The word “humble” means “to bend the knee; to bring down; to place self under another.” Pride will not allow the prideful person to bow their knee to the Lord! Rev. 3:17b-18. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. Jonah 3:5-10 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. John 15:5.-6“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. A. The people of God are challenged to “pray”. Prayerlessness is the first cousin to pride. Prayerlessness says, “I do not need to call on the Lord, I can make it just fine without His aid.” Prayerlessness does not say, “He is all I need”; but “I am all I need.” B. It is a fact that we can pray and not have revival; but we will never have a revival apart from prayer! Prayer is the ultimate statement of inability. Prayer looks to God and says, “I can’t, but you can!” Prayer acknowledges personal, profound dependence upon the Lord. James 4:2-3! You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Charles Finney said, “Prayer is the essential link in the chain of events that leads to revival!” III. PRIORITIES ARE THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL A. God’s people are told to “seek His face”. The word “seek” means “to search out by any method; especially by worship and prayer.” The word “face” refers to “the countenance; to turn toward His direction.” This little phrase is a call for God’s people to stop looking for help and purpose in every other thing in life. They are called upon to make God their primary focus and their first priority., IV. PRESUMPTION IS THE ENEMY OF REVIVAL A. Finally, God’s people are told to “turn from their wicked ways.” Sin keeps us out of the presence of the Lord, Isa. 59:2. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Sin closes the Lord’s ears to our prayers Psalm. 66:18; If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear. Pro. 15:8,29 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. Pro. 28:9.One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. B. What we need is a season of repentance. Pro. 28:13; He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. 1 John 1:9.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. C. James 5:16b says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” The key word in that verse is “righteous”. The word refers to a person who is “holy, upright and keeps the commandments of the Lord.” Does that describe you? Are you a righteous man or woman? Can God hear your prayers, and could you be an instrument of revival in His hands? Jer. 29:13. My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, And like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of the Lord, And because of His holy words. Revival will come when God’s people adopt the attitude that gripped the hearts of the people of Nineveh. They dealt with their sin problem and God moved in a great revival, Jonah 3:8-10.But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. Pastor Paul Kiilu |

The Risen Christ | Pastor Paul Kiilu | March 31 20133. April, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsPodcast: Play in new window | Download The Risen Christ — His Peace, Power, and Purpose Three Facts and How Jesus Deals With Us. 1. The doors were locked. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have” (Luke 24:39). 2. They were afraid. Verse 19: “The doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews . . .” Their leader had just been crucified as threat to Caesar. Their fear is totally understandable. And into that fear Jesus comes. 3. Jesus comes to them and stands in their midst. Verse 19: “. . . the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them.” Three Gifts in What Jesus Says the gift of peace, the gift of power, and the gift of purpose. 1). “Peace Be With You Five relationships where the crucified and risen Christ brings peace into your life: 1) Peace between us and him. He is standing there among them offering them himself as a friend and helper, not a judge. 2) Peace between us and God. God makes peace with us by substituting his Son’s suffering for our penalty. Now he comes to us as a loving Father. 3) Peace between us and others who are in Christ. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28) 4)Peace between us and our own souls. The New Testament letter to the Hebrews says, “The blood of Christ . . . will purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God” (Hebrews 9:14). 5). Peace with the world. Colossians 1:19–20 so that someday, in God’s time, all evil will be cast into outer darkness and the entire new creation will be full of peace and righteousness. Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end . . . with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore” How Do You Receive This Peace? John 1:12 “To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” 2). Power by the Spirit Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” The work of the Holy Spirit that Jesus gives is that he makes us able to do what we are simply not able to do on our own. He gives us power. John 20: 22 Jesus performs a kind of acted out parable. “He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” 3. Our Central Purpose for Existence John 20:22, 23 NKJV And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” |

The Ultimate Rest | Erastus Njenga | March 10 201310. March, 2013Latest Sermons, News, News|BlogsNo commentsPodcast: Play in new window | Download THE ULTIMATE RESTRest means i – Inactivity after work or exertion Salvation is rest = also knowing that you are saved it gives you rest, mentally and emotionally Sabbath rest = Exodus 20:9-10 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. Exodus 20:11 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Romans 8:28 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose. Exodus 31:1717 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’” (sabbath is for israel alone – A covenant for my children israel 2 God) 2 Peter 1:20 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. Hebrew 4:1-8 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a] 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, Hebrews 4:99 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e] just as God did from his. _ There is a rest for the people of God _In Genesis God created and finished everything in six days , he rested the 7th day. _These were 24 littral days of 24 hour clock _This is also prophetic day _Why do i say these _I want you to listen to me very carefully. Please don’t loose me here. 2 Peter 3:88 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. -One thousand years is as one day to our lord -ISRAEL calendar starts from 0 to today . Their calender is approaching 6000 years since the time man was created. -This is just 6 days as to the Lord -The seventh day the whole of the earth will enter into rest. THE WHOLE CREATION GROANS Romans 8:22-25 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: THERE IS A DAY WHICH IS COMING-The rest one thousand years = 1 day to our Lord -We are approaching 6000 years = 6 day to our Lord -The seventh day or the 7000 year is the rest for all creation Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ***Satan will be bound in a bottomless pit before whole earth rests.*** IT IS ONLY 2 DAYS SINCE JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD Hosea 6:1-2 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. TIE IT UP 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. BENEDICTIONS -Are you ready for this big day that is coming |
